Places I know well enough to have opinions about.

I can book anywhere in the world. These are the ones I know first-hand — where I’ll save you the most time, because I’ve already made the mistakes.

Paris & France

The destination I book most and the one I’ve walked the most myself. Paris rewards people who get the small decisions right — which arrondissement you sleep in, which day you go to Versailles, and whether you have booked the Orangerie before you turn up.

Beyond the city: Giverny in autumn when the tour buses have gone, the Loire, Provence in early summer, and the Alps when you want mountains instead of museums.

What I’d arrange: Left Bank vs Right Bank hotels · Versailles before opening · skip-the-line museum entry · day trips by rail

Walt Disney World & beyond

Walt Disney World

The most underestimated planning job in travel. Done badly it’s lines, heat and a family falling out by Wednesday. Done well it’s genuinely one of the best vacations you can take — and the difference is almost entirely in the planning.

Walt Disney World is my specialty. I’ve done it repeatedly and I know exactly where the days go wrong: park order, when to leave the park and come back, which restaurants need booking sixty days out, and which of the resort hotels actually suits how your family moves.

I know the rest of the portfolio too — Disneyland in California, Disneyland Paris, Disney Cruise Line, Aulani and Adventures by Disney — so if Orlando isn’t the right fit, I’ll tell you which one is.

What I’d arrange: Which Disney World resort actually suits you · park tickets, dates and day order · dining reservations at 60 days · a day-by-day plan with rest built in · Disney Cruise Line and Aulani

New England

This is home. I don’t plan New England off a screen — I plan it from having driven it, in every season, for years. That’s a different kind of knowledge, and it shows up in the details.

What actually decides a New England trip is timing and logistics: when the foliage is genuinely peaking rather than when the calendar claims it will, which ferry to the Vineyard or Nantucket and where to leave the car, which White Mountains inn is worth the extra hour, and how to get to a game at Fenway or Gillette without losing the day to traffic.

What I’d arrange: Foliage timed to the actual season · Martha’s Vineyard & Nantucket · the White Mountains · coastal Maine and the Cape · Boston, Fenway and Gillette

Four more I get asked for constantly.

River & Ocean Cruise

Viking & beyond

Viking Certified Expert. The Rhine, the Danube, the Douro, and ocean itineraries that use the ship as a hotel that moves. Cabin choice matters far more than the brochure suggests.

06

Italy & the Alps

Europe

Rome, Florence and the Amalfi Coast, or the northern lakes and the Dolomites when you’d rather have mountains than crowds. Usually best combined, rarely best rushed.

07

Gardens & Day Trips

France

Giverny, Fontainebleau, Chantilly, the Loire chateaux. The trips that turn a city break into something people remember for years.

08

The Lowcountry

Carolinas & Georgia

Hilton Head, Charleston, Savannah and the Sea Islands. I lived in Bluffton, South Carolina — so this one comes with local knowledge an outsider simply can’t assemble.

Tell me where you want to go.

Tell me where, when, who is coming and what you want to spend. I’ll come back with a plan, the perks I can attach to it, and exactly what it costs. No obligation either way.
